What we are building right now

Every function Version 1.0 needs is written, and the work now is testing it. Everything on this page is where that honestly stands, including the parts we have held back for the version after it rather than half-finish

The road to launch

Five stages, and we are in the second

These are the steps to getting Version 1.0 out, not versions of it. Writing the modules was the long part and it is behind us; what is left is proving the thing behaves on hardware we do not own, in shops we do not run

  1. Build

Every module 1.0 needs written, wired to the database, usable end to end.

  2. We are hereTesting

Driving the whole app through a full simulated trading year until it stops surprising us.

  3. Shop trials

A handful of shops running it as their only till, on their own counters and their own hardware.

  4. Store submission

Packaging, signing, and Microsoft's certification pass.

  5. Launch

The listing goes live and the download page stops saying coming soon.

On the bench

What is being worked on this week

The shortest-lived part of this page, and the point of it. These are the jobs open right now, not a roadmap

Accounting reconciliation pass

Testing

Post a full simulated trading year, check the balance sheet closes to the rupee, then do it again with returns, voids and buy-backs mixed in.

78%

Backup and restore, end to end

Testing

A nightly backup, a restore that actually restores, and the awkward case where the folder it was writing to has not existed for a week.

82%

Roles and permissions pass

Testing

Walking every screen as an owner, a manager and a counter salesman, and proving each of them reaches exactly what they should and nothing else.

72%

Offline licence grace period

Testing

Proving a till that has not seen the internet for two weeks keeps selling, and that the day it reconnects nothing dramatic happens.

66%

MSIX package and code signing

In progress

Building the signed package Microsoft will accept, and getting a clean pass on the certification checks before it is ever submitted.

42%

First-run setup wizard

In progress

Store details, currency, tax and opening balances, in an order that makes sense to someone who has never seen the app before.

35%
Version by version

What is in each version

The same groups the feature list uses, split by the version they ship in. Pick a version or swipe across — nothing is ever taken off this page, so what Version 1.0 was is still here once the next one lands

The first release, and everything the percentage at the top of this page is about. A shop can run its counter on it start to finish: sell, buy, count stock, take payment, keep books.

Selling & checkout

Done100%

Till, cart tabs, held sales, returns, exchanges, quotations, orders, layaway and installments.

Inventory & buying

Done100%

Catalogue, IMEI and serial tracking, purchase orders, goods received, suppliers, adjustments and stock counts.

Customers & money

Done100%

Profiles, credit limits, loyalty, promotions, the cash drawer and expenses, all written and behaving.

Accounting & reports

Testing96%

Journals, balance sheet, ageing and thirty-plus reports, reconciled line by line against a full simulated trading year.

Backup, data & licensing

Testing90%

Scheduled backups, restore, the roles and permissions model, and the offline licence check.

Store packaging & release

In progress42%

MSIX packaging, code signing, the listing copy, and Microsoft's certification checklist.

The 94% at the top of this page is these 6 figures weighted by how much of Version 1.0 each one is, not an average of them. Selling is most of NeatPakPOS; Store packaging is a fortnight of paperwork.

Held back rather than missed. Everything here needs hardware we do not own yet or an account we cannot test against, and shipping it untested would be worse than shipping it late.

Staff, service & assets

In 2.035%

HRM, repair job cards and owned equipment. The screens are drawn and the data model is in, but attendance, payroll and job costing are 2.0 work and are not being claimed as finished.

Hardware & card payments

In 2.00%

Thermal receipt printers, barcode scanners, cash drawers, A4 layouts and real card or wallet payments. None of that hardware is on this bench, so none of it is being tested and none of it is counted.

What Version 2.0 adds
  1. Step 1

    Counter hardware, on real counters

Thermal receipt printers, barcode scanners, cash drawers and A4 printing, proven on hardware we do not own yet rather than guessed at from a spec sheet.

  2. Step 2

    Staff, service and assets finished

Attendance, shifts, leave and payroll, repair job cards costed properly, and owned equipment depreciated rather than merely listed.

  3. Step 3

    Card and wallet payments

Real payment methods taken at the till, settled and reconciled, instead of cash and a transfer someone types in by hand.

  4. Step 4

Data import from whatever you use now

Products, customers and opening balances out of Excel, so day one is not a week of typing.

An order, not a calendar. There is no date on this version because a date here would be a promise, and the honest thing we can publish before a first release exists is what comes next and in which order. The download page is where Version 1.0 will be announced.

Behind us

What has landed recently

Proof the numbers above actually move, rather than a page that has said 92% since spring

  1. August 2026

Physical stock count with variance review

Count the shelf, see every difference against the system, and approve the lot in one commit rather than a hundred silent corrections.

  2. August 2026

    Buy-back and consignment

Second-hand goods taken in at the price actually paid, and consignment stock tracked apart from what the shop owns.

  3. July 2026

    Installment plans (KIST)

Principal, schedule and flat interest, with a final payment that settles to exactly zero.

  4. July 2026

    Thirty-plus reports and the dashboard

Margin, dead stock, stock valuation, the hourly heatmap, receivables ageing, staff sales and product scoring.

  5. June 2026

    Double-entry accounting under everything

Sales, purchases, returns and payroll all post their own journals, so the balance sheet is built rather than typed.

Want to be one of the shops that tries it first?

Shop trials are how the last few percent get found, and they are also the first time this runs on a real counter. Tell us what you sell and we will get in touch when the trial build is ready — the full 14-day trial is yours either way
